Item Build
Full Guide
You may think that Steel is better as a support, but i disagree. He is a very tanky boy :)
Why pick Steel?TankyTeamfigt orientedAlot of CC (Stuns/knockup)Can 1v1 if you are even due to CC and passiveHe got more sustain than most offlaners.
Starter items:I recomend starting
Vitality Beads because your goal is to get
Brimstone as fast as possible to be able to farm easier. You can start
Tunic or
Wraps but i dont recomend that due to delaying
Brimstone.
Upgrading your crest:There are 3 different upgrades, the
Saphir's Mantle,
Razorback and
Nyr Warboots. In my opinion the is the go-to Crest to go for. i dont like
Saphir's Mantle because mostly i am going to build
Frostguard and because of that
Saphir's Mantle active might not even be worth it. You gain 20% additional Health for 6 sec. which is nice. The last one is
Nyr Warboots. I do like these because you get movement speed and store 45% of damage recieved for 5 sec. You later heal the recieved damage over 3 sec. It is niche item, but it can help you run down your enemies with CC.
Early build:
Before you continiue your build, look at your lane opponent and see if they are physical or Magical.
You can decide if you want to continiue off
Brimstone and buy
Fire Blossom. Build this if you lane opponent is Physical.
There is multible options if you want to get some protection against magic. I recomend building
Brimstone into
Crystalline Cuirass,
Void Helm or
Flux Matrix. Decide based of are they auto attacking alot? Then
Void Helm for ranged OR
Crystalline Cuirass for melee. As you probably have noticed, they are expensive items and should only be taken if you have farmed properly, taking buff or getting kills. If you are pretty even i would go for
Flux Matrix if you want a little power spike earlier.
Mid build:
I reccomend building
Dynamo for extra damage and armor when you engage whit your or . Another option is to go
Tainted Guard as it helps against healing items and heroes like
Terminus and Grux.
Frostguard is a nice item when you notice the enemies are auto attacking alot and good against carries. As a bonus
Frostguard slow enemies when you get hit by a basic attack.
Late build:Here there are many options and should be built based off what you need.
Stonewall is a nice but situasional item. If you are able to jump in using or without getting bursted down. You can build this to counter Gideon, because if you use your to get in his ULT. You can disable his ULT and you can turn the fight against them.
Timewarp is a nice item wich reduces your cooldowns and adds magical power and physical armor for 5 sec. You might build this as a second item, but only if you are far ahead and you can help other lanes get a lead.
World Breaker is a good item that will benefit from your health. You get more magical power equual to 2% of your max Health.
Wardens Faith it is an item i rarely build but might just make the teamfights a little easier, due to when enemies uses basic attack on you, their basic ability cooldowns is decreased by 0.2 sec.
Bonesaw is an item i put in for fun, and if you are going to build it you build it either as a second or last item.
Laning phase tip:
Use your passive to poke the enemy down. (ex: RMB/Q while in your wave) If you do this you will mostly guarantee the trade is won by you.
After laning phase:
Your job is to lock down an enemy or enemies with cc's for your team. If you are able to do that you win most of the fights if your teammates follows you, and you use your Razorback.
Nyr Warboots and
Saphir's Mantle can be helpfull, but you loose more pressure than if you had
Razorback due to the damage reflection.
You can go to side lanes and push towers (Split-Push) but your damage against towers is pretty bad, but you can put pressure on that tower so that means the enemies decide what will happend. If you are going to take a tower on the side lane, and wont come and stop you, just continue until you get the tower. If they recall and try to stop you, you sucessfully stopped the enemies from doing objectives.
PS: They might just ignore you because of how little damage you do to towers.
