Predecessor Patch 0.4.3
By sacrilege — March 4, 2023
Predecessor patch 0.4.3 arrives March 7th, and primarily targets further item reworks, mostly for ADC (carry) heroes. These patch is intended to give carries such as Drongo and Sparrow a more diverse range of itemization playstyles to aim for beyond the current "build as much crit as possible" meta. Omeda have stated that they're aiming for carries to comfortably choose between crit, on-hit effect, and armor penetration builds as players see fit.
Assassins and Fighters have also seen some new shifts to their own items, allowing more potential build diversity and opening up options for more heroes such as Crunch or Kallari. We're also looking to fix up some major balance concerns with Raiment and Megacosm. Lastly with items, is a new Support Crest option called Reclamation, allowing Support to help cleanse their allies of negative effects.Read full article »

Shinbi is a melee assassin who specializes in mobility and sustain, able to quickly jump into a fight, burst down an enemy, and then dash away while letting her spirit wolves finish off her target.
As one of the heroes from the original Paragon, let's dive in to her original Paragon kit, as her abilities in Predecessor are likely to be similar:Read full article »
Predecessor Patch v0.3.2
By sacrilege — February 3, 2023
A new Predecessor balance update arrives February 7th, aiming to continue tweaking mages towards more glass cannon rather than tanky yet powerful; this includes the gimmicky tank Countess build terrorizing the battlefields as of late.
Hero and tower scaling have also been affected with the intent of making the early laning phase a little longer and more fruitful, as heroes receive more health and mana early on (scaling less towards late game), as well as towers receiving a small boost to their durability.
Timewarp has been reworked and is no longer a staple item for supports.
Matchmaking has also been a little divisive, with Predecessor's "Party Modifier" — a boosting of a party's combined MMR to compensate for the major benefits of being grouped and on comms — apparently being a little too strong, particularly for high MMR matches. The party modifier will be dialed down a little, meaning players who play in groups should have an easier time. As a solo player myself I'll keep a close eye on this change, as people playing in stacks typically already have colossal advantages, and we don't want pubstomping to be rampant.
Note that we've added these stat changes to our database, so you can immediately look at the new versions of heroes and items changed with this patch.
Let's see what's coming February 7th.Read full article »

Predecessor's first major content patch drops January 24 and brings the much-awaited Revenant to haunt those carry lanes! Watch out for his ability to readily focus down enemy carries and supports via Reckoning.
The patch also brings its fair share of buffs and nerfs, particularly around mages, as well as a bunch of item changes — these include a number of item name changes too, such as Bloodlust renaming to Bloodletter, and Leviathan changing to Tainted Bastion. Expect some existing builds here on Predecessor.pro to be slightly broken due to this change.

Predecessor's first balance patch of 2023 focuses primarily on item builds, targeting certain items that felt too much like must-buys (such as Mutilator and Astral Catalyst) as well as bringing some underperforming items up to baseline. Leviathan has also been reworked into an anti-healing magical armor item.
