Item Build
Full Guide
(NOTE: This Build requires new items added to the game not yet added to the build calculator. Items in question are: 1. Boneseeker 2. Beserkers Axe, these are both viable end game items and it is your choice on which one suits your playstyle better)
This is a test build i have been working on for a few weeks now, there are still some kinks but so far the build has been amazing and gives Greystone that Brawler feel once again.
When starting instead of using the Warrior Crest grab the Rouges Crest and build that into Ortus. start your build grabbing the shortsword and building The Perforator this will give you advantage over your opponents since it will let you slow them with all of your abilites ( 10% with Make way 25% all other abilites ) It also helps by giving 30% Pen which will be useful to start with. Next
Citadel This will give you an adavntage if you are facing a physical attacker with the armor but it is also useful not matter what enemy you fight since as long as they are in range they get there armor reduce while yours goes up (Combining this with your first item make it easy to keep them by your side!)
Now we head into Mid Game, with these two items alone if played well you can win most 1v1s and help setup for easy team fights and ambushes. now the next two items i found help insure that you keep your damage going even if you miss a few basic attacks (Which while in a stressful situation can happen) Start building Infernum next this will add more damage to both your abilites and basics and turn Grey into a bursty brawler. From there we build
Tectonic Mallet this item pairs well with Ortus since it gives you a damage boost based of your bonus movement speed and with the slow that you apply you can easily stay on top of your enemy( some would say it is better to build this earlier since you are running Ortus and that is fine, i recommend trading spots with
Citadel if you would like to)
At this point you are now a Burst Brawler Capable of staying on top of your target and dealing amazing damage, Where do you go from here? You have a choice between two items as your last item. First is the Berserker Axe ( my personal favorite ) This item tops the cake by adding more to your bonus movement speed and gives you yet another way to slow down runaway opponets during those end game brawls with your basic attack, i have had great success when running this in team fights by jumping onto a taget and slowing them down for my team to come in. if you dont like this option then i have a second item for you that works just as well and that is Boneseeker. This item helps speed up your basic attack but also possess great abilite that can single out a target and destroy them fast. Once you hit this point you will just start using your gold to grab strength tonics to increase your overall damage.
I'm not quite done though. I want to make sure you understand what to expect with this build and give you some pros and cons on this build
lets start with the Cons of this build. the way Grey was set out to play like was a tanky brawler so this build goes way off of what is recommended by the Devs and other players who play Grey by the book, which means that there is a bit of a risk involved with this build.
First off this is not a tank build so when apporoching a fight remember that you sacrifice health and shields to gain more damage. The second problem comes down to who your opponent is on Offlane (or Jungle) when going up against those with great range or good escapability don't be shocked if at first they seem to be beating you in lane, take your time and play safe. The last thing you need is to die and get behind on your build, Which is the third con.
So with that out of way lets talk Pros. This build really gives you the closes Paragon Greystone feel i have had so far. First even though he does lose out on some tanky aspects it doesnt mean he cant hold his own, he still feels durable and can pack a punch at the same time, that fits his base stats very well. Second this build can be scary! The fact that you can slow down an opponent with make way makes this build feel dirty ( Even if it is only 10% that could help close the gap for the stronger slow with Sacred Oath) not to mention the amount of movement speed by the end of the game makes it almost impossible for your enemies to lose you and lastly the Physical Pen. helps fills that gap of missing damage that Grey feels like he should have, just the 30% alone makes you feel like you hit your enemy hard at the beginning.
There you have it! this build has been a lot of fun so far but I still work on trying to make it feel even better than it is now. If anyone plays this build let me know what you think of it and let me know what you like and dislike about. GLHF!
